Nestled in the shadow of the "Gunks" along the Wallkill River at the south-eastern section of the Town of Shawangunk is the Hamlet of Wallkill. Once a thriving agricultural community supporting the nearby Borden Farm (home of "Elsie the Cow"), economic demise has befallen the hamlet.
Hillside Communities has joined forces with a local property owner on a revitalization project for the existing hamlet center. Our portion of the project includes the planning, designing and construction of approximately 50 cluster-style dwellings, 30,000 sq. ft. retail/office space, and recreational facilities in traditional town-center style. We are working closely with the town which will concurrently construct a new town hall and expansion of the existing town library on property contiguous with our site.
